Well, I like clean signatures so yours definately doesn't fit it... I'll give you some suggestions in the design career ^^
- Always add border. In the start you'll probably make some odd ones with bevel (you'll see how horrible it is after some years of training :P), then you'll follow the nice and simple 1px border. Some time later you'll start to make like 4px border in one side and no border in the other. I recommend using the simple border (1px black)
- Never use patterns on fonts :P
- It is ok to use shadow, glow or bevel in the font, but please, customize it to make it look a bit cleaner

Not bad as first one.

But maybe less brightness on central part. Try to add borders then it should look much better.
I really like phont and efect on it. Fit very well :)

It looks good. Matter of fact, its one of the best sigs that I have seen for first timers. Just always remember, if you don't add a border, like a tech border, grundge border, then just add a 1 pixel black border. ;)
